![]() This has apparently got bespoke-coded tall narrow "Left/right" arrows either side of the row of display icons shown at the top. General -> Display Settings is another "throws you out to the top level" moment. Sometimes they just come back while you're using Settings. ![]() Sometimes it launches with profile photos that vanish a second later. Random delays about whether it shows any. Speaking of the top-level Family icon, lottery about whether it shows only one profile photo in a circle next to it, or more. Family just does something different, because of course it does. Network -> Wi-Fi takes you to the same interface as the top-level Wi-Fi sidebar entry but does not screw up your navigation position and jump you up to that top level entry, so we know that Settings can do this. Inside the iCloud account entry are all those grey wells with ">" on them, which in each case takes you to a new screen of details - except the Family Sharing one, which is the only entry that throws you out of that view completely and takes you to the top-level sidebar Family. If you have Family Sharing, the top of the sidebar has your main iCloud entry, then Family below. "Can't make our minds up" navigation in a brand new hierarchy. ![]() Sound menu's little "Play" icon next to the Alert sound doesn't always work and it doesn't always auto-play when a change in menu selection is made, especially if you've just launched the application - "Boop" and "Breeze" usually fail to play, but if you choose "Bubble" it'll often pull itself together and start working after that. Not "Advanced", or "Other", or anything else. Strange bespoke circle with three dots in it that is, I guess a fourth pop-up menu style. Weird on-hover "Connect" button that you don't know is going to show up until you happen to mouse over a network by chance. Speaking of that slow-to-show WiFi panel, significant lag for "Details." modal. Most are the new Settings-only weird 1990s on-hover popups in Wallpaper, the "Add Photo Album" one bottom-right is a button-style popup which is rare but per-HIG, while in Displays -> Night Shift there's a standard no-hover menu for Schedule, likewise Desktop & Dock -> Shortcuts. It's visually super busy, cluttered and they vary a lot in height so it's messy and it wastes space. Most controls are just in row after row of grey wells for no reason. You just have to sit and wait to see if it's finished yet. ![]() This assembles the view in a series of delayed updates, with no indication that you're waiting for more things to appear. Go to Privacy & Security, scroll down, click on Extensions. Accessibility is another one that takes a long time to open, along with Control Centre. Example offender: WiFi takes an age to open the side panel. It's a simple settings application, not Photoshop or AutoCad. Part one of two, because Reddit kept giving me 400 errors: ![]()
